Yo dudes. So in 1-weeks time we're gonna be busy setting up our booth at the Make It Show in Vancouver! You'd be surprised at how much work goes into selling greeting cards (it's more display than products!), but it's a hell of a lot easier doing a local show than it is traveling across Canada!
Anyway, if you're in and around the Vancouver area next weekend (that's April 22, 23, 24th) then you should make an effort to stop by the PNE Forum for the Make It Show. It's only $5 at the door [or $4 if you show them this flyer (on or phone or printed!)] If you plan on going with a few buddies, you can buy your tickets ahead of time right from the Make It Show website and save up to 40% off! ($3/person with 3 or more people). Now that's just smart planning.
And while you're at it, make note of where you can find us...
Spring has been off to a crazy start. For me it started with a cold, which turned into a flu, which then turned into a sinus infection... Which (thanks to a heavy dose of antibiotics) went away just in time for my trip to Edmonton for the Make It Show! Edmonton has always been so good to me and it was so great to be back. So for those of you that visited me at the show last month - thank you! (Also, you might want to stay tuned for an announcement about our return to Whyte Ave!... assuming it goes as planned!)
Now its nearly time for Make It Vancouver to begin and while it seems I'm fighting another cold (yeah, another one!) I'm still pumped and ready for a great show! We'll be back at the PNE Forum Friday, April 21st to Sunday, April 23rd with a bunch of other awesome creators/designers/artists. You'll be bummed if you miss out on the awesomeness that is Make It.
So when I was in Edmonton my coasters were a HUGE hit and so I knew I needed to add some new ones to the lineup. Check them out in person if you're in the Vancouver area, or find them here next week. I've also restocked the soldout ones, which you'll see reflected on the site next week.
Oh shit, I almost forgot - Mother's Day is coming up pretty quick here, so you might want to considering buying your mom/wife/mom-type-person a card now so you have time to work up the courage to give her something so hilarious she might pee herself a little.
If you're here to order a Mother's Day card for your mom, wife, mother-in-law or mother-type-figure, I should warn you that you've past our shipping deadline.... well, sort of! We're based out of BC and if you are too (or if you're in AB or SK) then chances are we can still process and mail your order in time for you to pass it along to your mom. For the rest of you, you can certainly order whatever cards you'd like and we'll ship them as soon as we can (usually 1-2 days), but chances are they won't arrive to you in time for Mother's Day (which is Sunday, May 14th). Anyway, you can't say we didn't warn you.
Now for other news, I've been spending a few hours here and there doing some spring cleaning around the office and it lead to a CLEARANCE section on the site! The items listed on there aren't defective or ugly or awful in anyway... they just happen to be taken up more space than they are worth! So we want to clear them out! We have a few discontinued cards that we'll likely be adding in the weeks to come, so stay tuned. In the meantime, pick up a shirt for $10!
Valentine's Day has come and gone and I'm finally settling back into my normal work routine... Creasing, folding and cutting cards for the masses! Earlier this month my husband and I spent the weekend in Vancouver at the Taboo Show. It was my first time at that particular show and it was such a warm welcome from lovely, sexy, hilarious, fun-loving people! If you've never been, the show celebrates sex, self-love and everything taboo! (So of course my cards were a perfect fit). I've never been to a show with a strict 18+ audience and it was certainly a pleasure not having to turn kids away from my booth all weekend (the half-naked customers were just an added bonus). Anyways, thanks to you of you that dropped by my booth at the show, I hope to see you again next year!
Hi Friends! If you're a regular visitor here (or you follow us on social media), then you might have noticed that I've been a little quiet lately. Apologies for that! Well, I'm not really sorry... I was on a much needed vacation to Disneyland (and who on Earth would apologize for that?!) Anyways, after my hectic February/March/early April, the trip was much-needed and I feel refreshed and ready to get back to work!
Soooo, while I was in Toronto for the One of a Kind Show I collected email addresses for my mailing list. If you signed up, but didn't receive an email yesterday (April 23rd), please be in touch... Sometimes it's hard for me to decipher other people's handwriting, so I may have signed you up with an incorrect email address. For those of you that weren't at the show in Toronto and aren't on the list, please let me know if you'd like to sign up! There's currently no link to do it yourself (I need my web people to help with that), but I can certainly add you manually! (You get emails about contests and sales and shit).
Just a reminder that you might want to take this opportunity to buy a Mother's Day card for the moms in your life! It doesn't have to be your mom... It can be your wife or baby-mama or your mother-in-law or step-mom. Mother's Day is May 13th and our deadline for Mother's Day orders is May 7th (for Canada) and April 25th (for international).
Anyways, that's it. Just wanted to let you all know that I'm alive and well.
We have one.... I just need the web gods to help me put it here.
