Awhile back I started illustrating characters from The Walking Dead and I ended up putting the artwork on products that I sold online and at shows. A couple weeks back I realized doing “fan art” really isn’t what this company is all about, so I’m clearing out my Fan Art stock!
I was doing some spring cleaning (in the summer of course!) and I came across some of my old canvas paintings. I used to LOVE sitting down and getting my hands dirty (I’m a messy painter) with these guys, but since my kid was born I haven’t touched a canvas! Anyway, in an effort to clean out my closet I’ve marked these cuties down 50%!!! They’re all hand-painted and limited edition and maybe, just maybe, when I die they’ll be worth a little something (probably not, but a bitcoin or two would be cool). Who knows if I’ll ever make more (I probably won’t)?! So if you want to add some colourful original artwork to your walls, now is the time! (Or if you’re thinking ahead to Christmas, now might be the perfect time to shop for that Hug and Kiss fan you know!).
I’ve created a special “SALE” link at the top of my site. You can find the Paintings for sale along with some other items I’m promoting this month! There are Shirts (these are totally discontinued and limited sizes are available), Walking Dead Coasters (some of the characters will never be made again once they sell out!) and Postcards (Black Cat Appreciation Day is next month!). Most of items are only on sale until July 31st, but the shirts will remain at $10 until they’re all gone. Check back regularly because items will come and go on sale whenever the mood strikes me.
So happy shopping!
Apologies for any of you that are/were waiting on orders or return emails. Things have been a little crazy around here as Mother Nature dumped nearly 90 centimeters of snow on my little town, followed by a storm that brought wind and freezing rain… But, the power is back on, the icicles have fallen and the snow is slowly turning to slush. So we're back to our normal work schedule.
So, Valentine's Day is just 4 short days away and if you haven't already purchased your Hug and Kiss Designs Valentine's Day card from us, I'm sad to say you've missed that boat! Though, luckily there are several retailers out there that stock their shelves with our cards, so you'll have to check in with them!
But before we celebrate Valentine's Day, we get to celebrate the return of The Walking Dead! We're huge fans around this office, so the return of the show after a mid-season break is WAY more exciting than Valentine's Day! Have you seen our Walking Dead Fan Art?
This past weekend we were exhibitors at Vancouver's Fan Expo. It's totally different than most shows we do (ya know, craft shows where all the exhibitors hand make their items) and we had a blast! There were Storm Troopers, Deadpools, Jokers, cute Ewoks and hundreds of other characters that I'm clueless about and it took people-watching to a whole new level.
Anyway, the Fan Expo is over and now we're gearing up for our next batch of shows! Just a few short hours ago our massive crate of display items and stock got picked up by our shipping company. It's heading off to Edmonton for the Make It Show, which is only a week away! Eek!!! We haven't been to Edmonton in YEARS and we're so excited to be going back! Yahoo!!!
Then we're back to Vancouver for the Make It Show at the PNE Forum December 8-11!!! Last year was our return to the Make It Shows after a short hiatus, and it's nice to be back on their roster. Honestly, the level of talent at this show is mind-blowing! Come check us out!
Our coasters arrived from the printer yesterday and we finished them in our office this afternoon by adding the cork backing!
Boy, they sure look cute all tucked into their Mandarin orange box-bed.
If you pre-ordered one (or more) of our calendars, then keep an eye on your mailbox! We shipped off the first batch of calendars this morning and our second batch will be shipping out tomorrow! We're excited for people to finally see the finished product… those dang things are a crazy amount of work and they damn well better be appreciated!!!
If you plan on visiting us at the Make It Show in either Edmonton or Vancouver in November (Edmonton) or December (Vancouver), you can plan to grab yourself a copy of the calendar there, but please keep in mind we have limited stock! (In other words it's safer to buy one right now from right here.)
